Charles Cheyne was born, 9 January 1754, in England.2

Charles Cheyne married Elizabeth Green 9 January 1780, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of England, in City of London, Saint Dionis Backchurch, England. Charles was a bachelor residing in Saint Michael Parish, Cornhill. Also married the same day in the same church was his assumed brother, Thomas, who also married a Green. The witnesses were the same for both marriages, one of which was his assumed sister, Mary. [N.B.--At least three children were apparently born to the couple, 1871-75. There were three Charles Cheyne marriages to an Elizabeth. Since the registrars at that time in England did not list the mother's surname, it is difficult to absolutely determine the three different families.]3,4,5

Charles Cheyne died 16 February 1802 at Rodney Street in Pentonville, Cumbria, England.6
