It will be noticed that Michael Saterwait mentioned in 1657, was
a resident of Mobjack Bay section. Thus we have him definitely
located in what is Gloucester County. This leads us to infer
that the Satterwhites of Abingdon Parish, Gloucester (among whom
the name Michael appears, were probably his descendants.

It seems likely that Michael Satterwhite was the father of
Thomas and John(1) from their estimated ages John (1) age is
pretty well established from birth and death records of his son

The Satterwhite family seems unquestionably to have had its
Virginia origin in York and Cloucester counties. In 1646 and
1647 the name of Marshall Satterwhite appears as confessing [xx]
judgements in the York county court, and in July 1657 Michael
Satterwhite of Mop Jack Bay [xx] (Gloucester Co )confessed an
indebtedness in York County.
