     Mary Cheyne was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Scottish Episcopal, 29 November 1767, at Peterhead Episcopal, in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The baptismal record read: "Alexander Cheyne, butcher, had a daug. bap. Mary".1,2

A Mary Chyne was found on the 1841 British Census, at Skene Street, Aberdeen, Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was listed as age 70, a spinster and born in Aberdeenshire. She may have been at a lodging house. That Mary Cheyne may have been either Mary Cheyne (7790) or (9643).3
