William G. Cheyne was born, about December 1900, in Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. A William G. Cheyne was found on the 1901 census, listed as born about December 1900. I believe that entry to have been flawed. I personally transcribed every Cheyne Civil Birth Record in Fraserburgh Parish from 1855 through 1915 at the New Register House in Edinburgh. No George Cheyne was born there near that date.1

William George Cheyne "the Baker" (16506) may have been either (6648) or (15994).

William G. Cheyne was listed on the 1901 British Census at 1 Broadsea, in Fraserburgh, Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was a listed as the 4 month old son of Charles M. McLeman and his wife Margaret. Margaret was born in Rathen Parish. No Margaret Cheyne was born in Fraserburgh or Rathen Parishes near that time. The couple had two other sons surnamed McLeman, ages 4 and 2. How was a Cheyne their son?1
