I believe that entry to have been flawed. I personally transcribed every Cheyne Civil Birth Record in Fraserburgh Parish from 1855 through 1915 at the New Register House in Edinburgh. No George Cheyne was born there near that date.1

McLeman and his wife Margaret. Margaret was born in Rathen Parish. No Margaret Cheyne was born in Fraserburgh or Rathen Parishes near that time. The couple had two other sons surnamed McLeman, ages 4 and 2. How was a Cheyne their son?1
