Cheyne and Emma Cheyne were listed as children in the household of James Cheyne and his wife, Christina Cheyne on the 1891 Scotland Census, at Lenabo Road, in Longside Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was listed as 9 years of age, born in Old Deer Parish, and a scholar.1

Charles Cheyne was listed on the 1901 Scotland Census at Whitestones, in New Deer Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was a servant on the farm of James Forrest. He was listed as 18 years of age, born in Old Deer Parish, Aberdeen and a farm servant, cattleman.2

On 19 June 1910. A Chas Cheyne was on a Manifest of Passengers, dated 19 June 1910, at Quebec, Quebec, Canada, aboard the Saturnia out of Glasgow. That Charles was probably either (15367) or (15934). He was 25 years of age and destined for Manitoba. His occupation in Scotland and his intended occupation in Canada was farmer. He had not previously been in Canada and he intended to stay. He was born in Scotland of Scotch race. He would travel to Manitoba via the Canadian Pacific Railway.3

A Charles Cheyne was mentioned in a book entitled The War Book of Turriff and Twelve Miles Round - A Memorial 1914-1919. That Charles probably was either (15367) or (15934). The enter reads:
"CHARLES CHEYNE (New Byth)
Fireman.
The Black Watch. Private. Served - England".4
