Clayton Cheyne, Mary Cheyne, Percy Cheyne and Ruth Cheyne were listed as children in the household of George Cheyne and his wife, Minnie Etta Cheyne on the 1911 Canada Census, in Toronto Townshiip, Peel, Ontario, Canada.¹

Ruth Cheyne was found on a border crossing list entering the United States, 7 September 1932, at Buffalo, Erie, New York, USA. She was 23, single, of Irish descent, a student and born in Derry, West Peel, Ontario on the 31st of January 1909. She was destined for the Mount Sinai Hospital School in New York City. Her mother, Minnie Cheyne, Islington, Ontario was her nearest relative in Canada.²

Ruth Cheyne Berkow signed a Petition for Naturalization, 7 April 1941, at New York, New York, USA, Certificate 3375128. She was 32 and a registered nurse. She resided with her husband Murray at 850 Amsterdam Avenue, New York City. Her date and place of birth and marriage were also found therein. They had no children. Her last foreign address was Islington, Ontario. She entered the United States at Buffalo, 7 September 1932.³

Ruth Berkow was named the daughter of Minnie Etta Cheyne on a passenger list on 19 November 1943. She resided at 78-20 222nd Street, Flushing Heights, New York.⁵
