      James Cheine, son to John Cheine in Old Aberdeen was apprenticed to John Strachan, weaver, 7 years and 1 year from 9 June 1654.1

James Cheine was mentioned in, Miscellany of the New Spalding Club. He was listed under the heading Burgess Register of Aberdeen. His entry reads as follows: "1662 Octr. 18. James Cheine, weaver, servant and preneis to John Strachan, weaver".2,3
