     Samuel Cheyne was born, 17 April 1873, at 12 noon, in 23 Skene Row, Aberdeen, Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Samuel Cheyne was the illegitimate son of Alexander Cheyne (1030), farm servant, Skilmafilly, Tarves, and Harriet Angus (14267), general servant, 23 Skene Row, Aberdeen.1

Samuel Cheyne was listed as a visitor in the household of Margaret Clark on the 1881 Scotland Census at Brownhill of Annochie, in Old Deer Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Margaret Clark was the mother of his step mother, Margaret Cheyne MS Tawes (3684).2

Samuel Cheyne, Maggie Cheyne and George Cheyne were listed as children in the household of Alexander Cheyne and his wife, Margaret Cheyne on the 1891 Scotland Census, at Hill of Skilmafilly, in Tarves Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was listed as 18 years of age, born in Old Machar Parish and a farmer's son.3

Samuel Cheyne married Margaret McKenzie 3 June 1899, at Seggiehole, in Savoch Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.4,5

Samuel Cheyne died 5 March 1950 arterio-sclerosis myocardial degenaration; gangrene of left foot, at Royal Cornhill Hospital in Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland. Address at time of death: Cairnbeathie, Lumphanan. home of a daughter.7
