FatherUnlinked Cheynes in Aberdeen, after 1850
Elizabeth Cheyne was born, about 1876, in Fraserburgh Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. An Eliza. Cheyne, age 5, was found on the 1881 British Census, in Longside Parish, Aberdeen. She was on the farm of Alexander Cheyne, retired farmer and listed as his niece and born in Fraserburgh Parish. I transcribed all Cheyne civil birth records from 1855 until 1900 that were recorded in Fraserburgh Parish. No Eliza was recorded as being born about 1876. The closest to that date was Elizabeth Cardno Davidson Cheyne, who was born in Fraserburgh in 1874, but she was found with her family on the 1881 census in Fraserburgh; and that family is not closely related to this one.1

Eliza. Cheyne was in the household of Alexander Cheyne and his wife, Christian Cheyne, and listed as niece on the 1881 Scotland Census, at 3 Bridge Of Buthlaw, in Longside, Longside Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1

An Eliza Cheyne (10427), niece, aged 5 years, born in Fraserburgh, was in the household of Alexander Cheyne (526), retired farmer and his son, John Cheyne (530), farmer, on the 1881 British Census in Longside Parish, Aberdeen.
On the 1891 census, a Lizzie Cheyne (6550), daughter, aged 11 years, born in Fraserburgh, was in the household of her father, John Cheyne (530).
Were these two Elizabeths the same person?
