     Joseph Hinson married Elizabeth Hoyle, daughter of Charles Hoyle, before 1679.¹ On 2 October 1694 Joseph was granted 195 acres on Potomac Creek, Stafford County, Virginia. Adjacent landowners were Theodorick Bland and Thomas Meridith. On 16 March 1694/95 Joseph was granted 391 acres by deed from the Proprietor's office on the north side of Potomac Run, Stafford County, Virginia. This is the land that was later sold by Joseph's son Edmund to Robert Carter of Lancaster County.^2,3 He died in 1697/98 in Stafford County, Virginia.^4,5

     Charles Hinson was born circa 1691.^2,3 On 15 December 1716 Charles was mentioned as an adjacent landowner in a deed in which Thomas Walker was granted 362 acres on Reedy Branch of Potomac Creek. Also owning property nearby was Bryan Young.⁴ In 1723 Charles appears on a quit rent roll for Stafford County, in which he paid 48 lbs. tobacco for 190 acres. On 12 July 1740 Charles is mentioned as owning land adjacent to Nathaniel Chapman on Potomac and Accokeek Creeks, Stafford County, Virginia. Other neighboring landowners are Capt. Washington (probably Lawrence Washington, half-brother of George), Thomas Seddon, and the Company Land. Given the date and location, the "Company" may be a reference to Accokeek Furnace.⁵

Charles Hinson married Joyce (?) before 1749.⁶ On 9 May 1749 Charles was charged 4 shillings, 4 pence for "6 1/2 lb Iron to a plow" in the accounts of the Accokeek Furnace, Stafford County, Virginia. On 31 May 1749 Charles was charged four shillings for 1/2 barrel of corn in the accounts of Virginia. On the same date he was also charged 7 shillings, 4 pence for 1 plow weighing(?) 8 pounds.⁷ On 5 June 1749 Charles again purchased 1/2 barrel of corn for 4 shillings from the Accokeek Furnace, Stafford County, Virginia.⁸ On 24 June 1749 Charles was charged 4 shillings for 6 pounds iron to a plow. At about the same time, he paid 7 shillings, 4 pence cash on his account.⁹ At the end of 1749, his account at Accokeek Furnace was adjusted by 4 shillings. Since the adjustment was referred to as an abatement, I assume it was a reduction in the amount he owed the Furnace.¹⁰ He died on 22 February 1749/50 in Stafford County, Virginia. He was survived by his wife, Joyce (?).¹¹ Charles Hinson and Joyce (?) had no children who survived their father.

     Joyce (?) married Charles Hinson, son of Joseph Hinson and Elizabeth Hoyle, before 1749.¹ Joyce survived the death of her husband, Charles Hinson, on 22 February 1749/50.²

Joyce (?) married James Cropp on 3 June 1750 Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Virginia.² Joyce (?) and Charles Hinson had no children who survived their father.

     Henry Threlkeld married Mary Hinson, daughter of Edmund Hinson and Elizabeth (?), on 3 November 1748 in Stafford County, Virginia.¹

     Sarah Latham was born circa 1729 Stafford County, Virginia.¹

Sarah Latham married Lazarus Hinson, son of Edmund Hinson and Elizabeth (?), circa 1751.

     George Bell married Ann Hinson, daughter of Edmund Hinson and Elizabeth (?), on 15 April 1745.¹

     Elizabeth Hinson was born on 31 March 1753 in Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Virginia.

     Sarah Hinson was born on 21 November 1755 in Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Virginia.

     John W. Henson was born circa 1823 in North Carolina.²

John W. Henson married Sarah Emeline Yelton, daughter of Barnett C. Yelton and Mary Ellen Ford, circa 1846.³ John Henson, age 27, was listed as the head of a household in the 1850 Census of Watauga County, North Carolina. Also living in the household were Emeline Henson, age 21, William Henson, age 1 and Elizabeth Henson, age 3 months. John reported owning no real estate. The household also includes James Henson, age 7, born in Missouri.⁴ He was recorded as the head of a household in the 1860 Census of Watauga County, North Carolina. Also living in the household were Sarah E. Henson, age 32, William G. Henson, age 12, Elizabeth Henson, age 10, Benjamin R. Henson, age 8, Millard F. Henson, age 4 and John P. Henson, age 1. John reported owning real estate worth $300 and personal property worth $100.⁵ He died on 21 October 1905.¹

Elizabeth (?) married Charles Henson circa 1817.¹ Elizabeth Henson, age 58, was listed as the head of a household in the 1850 Census of Watauga County, North Carolina. Also living in the household were John Henson, age 3, Sarah Henson, age 27, James Henson, age 24, Jordan Henson, age 19, Adeline Henson, age 19, Rebecca Henson, age 24, Charles Henson, age 2 and Elizabeth Henson, age 3 months. Elizabeth reported owning real estate worth $250.³ She died on 20 August 1886 in North Carolina.¹

     Adaline Henson was born on 24 June 1829 in North Carolina.¹

Adaline Henson married Tillett Combs.¹ Adeline Henson, age 19 was living in the household of Elizabeth Henson, age 58, in the 1850 Census of Watauga County, North Carolina.³ Adaline Henson died on 6 June 1913.¹

     Sarah Horton was born circa 1832 in North Carolina.¹

Sarah Horton married Pleasant Earle, son of Joshua Earle and Elizabeth Yelton, on 9 November 1850 in Rutherford County, North Carolina.^1,2 Sarah Earls, age 28, was living in the household of Pleasant Earls, age 28, in the 1860 Census of Rutherford County, North Carolina.³ Sarah Horton witnessed the death of Pleasant Earle circa July 1860 North Carolina.⁴
