The identification of this Charles Yelton as the husband of Margaret Brooks is somewhat speculative at this point, and is based on the marriage of James Yelton (Charles' brother) in the same county the following year and the appearance of Margaret with Charles in the 1860 Census for Buncombe County, North Carolina.² Margaret Yelton, age 20, was living in the household of Charles Yelton, age 32, in the 1860 Census of Buncombe County, North Carolina.³ Margaret Yelton, age 28 was listed as the head of a household in the 1870 Census of Buncombe County, North Carolina. Also living in the household was Thomas J. Yelton, age 8. Margaret reported owning no real estate and no personal property. Margaret and her son Thomas appear in a household with James M. Johnston, age 23. However, Margaret is listed as the head of the household. This census gives Margaret's place of birth as South Carolina.⁴

Allen, age 33, was listed as the head of a household in the 1850 Census of Rutherford County, North Carolina. John reported owning real estate worth The household also includes Elizabeth Badgers, a 10 year old white female, and Hoil Bibby, an 11 year old male mulatto. I'm not absolutely certain this is the correct family because of the difference in names (Sarah Ann v. Nancy), but Nancy is a common nickname for Ann. Also, there is no marriage bond for any Allen male marrying a "Nancy" of anywhere near the right age. Enumerated by W. M. Shipp..³

     Jonathan Roberson married Jane (?) before 1815. The marriage date is estimated based on the birthdate of the eldest known child. Jonathan Roberson died in 1838 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, Johnathan made his will 2 Jan 1838. It was recorded at the March Court, 1838.¹

     Joseph G. Price was born circa 1835 in North Carolina possibly the son of John and Elizabeth Price.^1,2

Joseph reported owning real estate worth $400 and personal property worth $125. Also living in the household are Rosanna (age 60), Alfred (age 21), and Susannah (age 18) Jarrel.¹ He died in 1862.⁴
