This was his second wife. Child #7 James born 20 Dec 1773 in Fincastle Co. Married France WEBB 9 Apr 1793, Where?. Who were France's parents. I have children and several generation of family. Looking for information on a George SMITH that was raised by Col. BUCHANAN around the Fincastle area. George's dad might of been John SMITH. We have reports that parents died and BUCHANAN took in the young George. George later married a Rebecca BOWEN also from this area. I believe John is listed in Seed Bed Of The Republic. EDMONSON, MONTGOMERY, PRESTON, ROBINSON, VAN_LEAR -
Searching for ancestors and kin of John ROBINSON, brother to Col.'s David and William ROBINSON, and sisters: Mrs. John EDMONSON, Mrs. Francis PRESTON, and Mrs. James MONTGOMERY. He also was cousin to James who had the son, John ROBINSON killed 1756 at Vause's Fort. This John ROBINSON was married to Gertrude (Gartry) VAN LEAR, daughter of Jacob and Margaret. Kegley's book is a good start, but need more help in sorting these people and relationships, ancestors and descendants out. All help is appreciated and will share what I have.
