GOODIN, GOODWIN, McCARROLL, McDANIEL, McDONALD -
Alfred McDANIEL is listed as being born in Augusta Co (or Bot??) in about 1784. He was married in Botetourt in 1820 (ministers returns) wife listed as Nancy GOODIN (born about 1796 in Augusta or Bot). They appear as a childless couple in the Bot 1820 census for Fincastle in Bot. This makes me believe they probably met there and thus that her parents probably lived in or near Fincastle itself.I believe she had a brother named Lucian GOODWIN who eventually migrated to Tennessee. I cannot find any information that identifies his parents or those of Nancy GOODWIN. He was a hatter. The family moved (or the county boundaries moved) to Montgomery Co in 1830, and Floyd in 1840 where they stayed until their names disappear after 1860. Their children, or at least several of them lived in Floyd at later times. I know there was a Samuel GOODWIN baptist preacher there in late 1780, and a John GOODWIN who married Nancy McCARROLL (?) about 1796, as well as a Daniel GOODWIN who was there quite early, but I cannot link either of these to Nancy (Agnes??) Does anyone know if the McDONALD/ McDANIEL family of Bryan McDANIEL included a son/grandson named Alfred? Or if the preacher Samuel GOODWIN of Botetourt had a daughter named Nancy? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks,

BRADLEY, BROWN, VEALEY, VEILEYS VEILY -
Searching for any information on VEALEY/VEILY families who lived in Bedford Co. in early 1800s. In the 1810 census are listed Isaac and Michael VEALY, the latter who married Lucy BROWN on 14 Sept. 1807. Also listed is marriage of Joshua BRADLEY to Harriet VEALEY, 27 March 1813. A Simon VEILEYS is listed in the Bedford Co. insolvency records in 1817. Peter VEALEY is listed in Bedford Co. census in 1820, Botetourt Co in 1830 before moving to Fayette/Raleigh Co. area by 1840. Any information on possible parents of Peter VEALEY would be helpful.

MORRIS, PRYOR, RAY, RHEA, THOMPSON, WRAY -
I am looking for any information concerning Ezekiel RHEA/WRAY or RAY who was in Botetourt Co., VA., in 1788. He received a land grant of 136 acres on the Rush Fork the waters of the west fork of Little River. By 1797, he seems to have been in Warren Co., KY. He died about 1811 in White Co., TN. I have been told that his wife was Elizabeth PRYOR, daughter of Richard PRYOR and Mourning THOMPSON, but have no proof of this. I also think that he is son of Moses RHEA/WRAY/RAY who left his will in Franklin Co., VA., dated 9 Apr 1802. Can anyone verify this? Ezekiel's mother must have been Elizabeth MORRIS, daughter of Daniel and Tabitha MORRIS. Tabitha MORRIS leaves her will in Bedford Co., VA., and mentions daughter, Betty RAY. I would also like to know if Ezekiel's grandfather is the Moses RAY/WRAY/RHEA who left his will in Amherst Co., VA., dated 22 May 1766 and mentions a son, Moses RAY.

FERGUS, LOONEY, RENFRO, WILLIAMS, ZIMMERLIE -
I may have been looking under the wrong rocks for years for my "missing link"! Just yesterday I received an email saying that there was a Robert LOONEY b. 1774 to John LOONEY and Elizabeth RENFRO in Botetourt Co. VA. She then said that Robert married Catherine ZIMMERLIE in 1794 and Susannah (or Susan) WILLIAMS in 1816(?). She then listed the children of Robert and Susan that I know are correct. Thus, I am looking for more information and substantiation on Robert's parents, birth and marriages. (There is somewhere a KY connection since all of Robert and Susan's children were born there. We know Robert died 1824/25 and Susan married James FERGUS. They both died in TN.)
