COLEY, SAUNDERS -
I am seeking parentage, wife, and siblings for one Lewis SAUNDERS who had at least three daughters: Elizabeth, Harriet, and Malinda, all of whom were married in Botetourt Co., VA. My ancestress is Malinda who married Winston COLEY, 24 Jan. 1839. William G. SAUNDERS served as a bondsman for their marriage and I had guessed he might have been Malinda's brother. Lewis SAUNDERS was located on the 1820 Bedford Co. VA census, but the first of the above marriages in Botetourt Co. was 1828. I have estimated Malinda's birthdate to be about 1810. A marriage bond in Brunswick Co., VA., dated 3 May 1798, for one Lewis SAUNDERS and Martha SAUNDERS is the best I can come to a correct time frame. I would appreciate input.

COLE, COLES, COLEY, COLLEY, SAUNDERS, WILKERSON -
I am seeking information on Isaac COLLEY and George COLLEY, both listed on the 1785 Tax Enumeration of Botetourt Co., VA. Isaac is listed with 8 persons and George with 4 persons, unnamed. Has anyone identified their wives or children? I am also seeking the parents and siblings of Winston COLEY who was born about 1810. Winston was married 24 Jan. 1839, in Botetourt Co. to Malinda SAUNDERS, daughter of Lewis SAUNDERS. Winston and Malinda were the parents of seven daughters: Elizabeth, Harriet, Malissa C., Mary T., Virginia, Olivia L., and Serena W. Of these seven daughters, Mary T. (Mollie) is my great-grandmother who married James K. Polk WILKERSON. I am aware of spelling variations and even recognize COLE and COLES as possibilities.

DRUMMOND, HELMS -
I am looking for the parents of John HELMS b:abt 1797 in VA. He married Rebecca DRUMMOND March 19, 1818 in Botetourt Co. I don't have proof as yet, but I think John's parents were the Rev. John HELMS and Elizabeth ?. In an obituary notice in "Herald of the Valley" newspaper dated July 23, 1821, it states that "the Rev. John Helms had been an active member of the Methodist church more than 30 years, and was the second member of that society in this (Fincastle) county; he has joined more than eight hundred couples in the holy state of matrimony". Can anyone tell me how to find information on that Methodist church? They may have information on the Rev. John HELMS and his family.
