Would like to have any information as to the original owners of the old mill at Daleville, Va. I have a picture of it that was cut out of the newspaper in 1937 and said it was built in 1847. I think that it was in my grandmothers family. Her name was Nancy Lewis Gillespie Garis.

I am seeking info re George Day and his wife Catherine (Weaver) Day who were living in Ross County, Ohio by 1811. They reportedly came to Ohio from Botetourt, Virginia according to a Ross County 1880 County History. At least two children, Abraham and Margaret, were born in Virginia according to census records, Abraham 1805/6 and Margaret 1809. Margaret subsequently married Henry Gates (Getz) who was born in Rockingham County, Virginia. Thank you!

I would be very greatful for any help on the following: our ancestor, David Harshbarger (b. 1784, married Elizabeth, died 1832), is rumored to be the son of Christian Harshbarger, of Botetourt County (son of Jacob Harshbarger b 1722 Basle, Switzerland). Gendex info shows an un-named son of Christian in 1783. Also, a son Samuel was born in 1783. Either they are twins or VERY close in age! Have you any information on this gentleman, or suggestions as to where I might track it down? I am in Rockbridge County, so a trip to Botetourt County is rather close. Thank you so much for any information that you might have!

I am seeking info on William S. Richardson (1778-ca.1870) of Botetourt Co. He married Damaris Boothe in 1820. She is the daughter of Alexander Boothe and Tempy (Temperance) Hicks from Surry Co. The Boothes came to Botetourt in the late 1820s I believe. Is Joel Richardson the father of William? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Mary
