BALDWIN, LEWIS -
Thomas Lewis is mentioned as a child of Samuel Baldwin, in the will of Samuel Baldwin,
in 1793 Botetourt County will abstracts. I suspect that Thomas is the son of Samuel's wife Mary, and her
first husband. Does anyone have more info on this family.

GARIS, GILLESPIE -
Would like to have any information as to the original owners of the old mill at Daleville, Va. I have a
picture of it that was cut out of the newspaper in 1937 and said it was built in 1847. I think that it was
in my grandmothers family. Her name was Nancy Lewis Gillespie Garis.

TAYLOR -
I need to find death records or cemetary information on John TAYLOR, died about 1825, probably at
Buchanan. His estate records are in Botetourt county, dated Feb. 1825. He had a son named in the will, Issac
TAYLOR possibly one of my ancestors. Any more details on this family would be appreciated. The will
named his wife Mary, however my sketchy records name my ancestors wife Catherine, no maiden name known.
Thanks, Jim Taylor, Bartlesville, OK. 918-333-5444

records, Abraham 1805/6 and Margaret 1809. Margaret subsequently married Henry Gates (Getz)
who was born in Rockingham County, Virginia. Thank you!

HARSHBARGER -
I would be very greatful for any help on the following: our ancestor, David Harshbarger (b. 1784,
married Elizabeth, died 1832), is rumored to be the son of Christian Harshbarger, of Botetourt County
(son of Jacob Harshbarger b 1722 Basle, Switzerland). Gendex info shows an un-named son of Christian
in 1783. Also, a son Samuel was born in 1783. Either they are twins or VERY close in age! Have you any
information on this gentleman, or suggestions as to where I might track it down? I am in Rockbridge County,
so a trip to Botetourt County is rather close. Thank you so much for any information that you might have!
