MERRILL / WATERFIELD / MCDONALD / JACKSON
According to my husbands mother, his Grandmother Alta (Merrill) Jackson was the
daughter of Nellie Waterfield who lived with her
husband Elgie (sp) Merril on their homestead just east of the Plains cemetery
approx 5 miles east of Forrest. According to the family Merrill
died and Nellie REMARRIED to Jimmy McDonald. All sources I have seen claim the
McDonald was her first and only husband but she was definitely my husbands great
grandmother and his grandmothers maiden name was Merrill...also, McDonald lived
until the 1960s and did not die until way past the 1920s dates shown on other
records...problem is I cant find out any info on Elgie Merrill at ALL!!
Supposedly, the homestead Nellie lived on with McDonald belonged to Merrill to
begin with...any one out there that can help? Thanks, Laurie McClung

AMADOR:
Looking for any information on the AMADOR family in Dona Ana County area. My
great-great grandfather was GUILLERMO AMADOR who married AURELIA PERES (Perez?)
on February 28, 1876 at Santa Genevieves in Las Cruces, New Mexico. As far as I
know, their children were ALVINO (they had 2 sons named ALVINO, the only reason
I can think of is that the first one died early on), DONACIANA, ANTONIA, and
JOSE. I think most of these children settled around the Hatch-Rincon areas. My
great grandfather JOSE AMADOR was married for the first time to MARGARITA
JIMENES and secondly to my great grandmother ANGELITA GANDARA REL. My
grandfather, GUILLERMO AMADOR, was born on November 20, 1928 and died April 19,

APODACA / MARTINEZ / LOBATO
I am looking for information on the following people:
Vidal APODACA listed in the 1880 census in Dona Ana County (Chamberino) and also
in the 1900 census for Sierra County (Derry). Born about 1934. He was married to
Daria MARTINEZ, born about 1853, and had 6 children, that I know of: Tomasa born
in October 1871 and married Jose MARTINEZ (their children:Luis Flores born 1891,
Pedro born 1897, Nestora born 1899, and Tomas Martinez born in 1900); Melquiades,
born about 1869; Maria, born about 1870; Luz, born about 1868; Eligio, born
1875, wifes name was Juliana; Guadalupe APODACA born December 1881, married
Ramona DURAN who was born about 1884 and later died due to the Spanish influenza
outbreak. I do not know whether or not they had children, but would like to know
if they did. My great-grandfather, Guadalupe, then married Basilia APODACA, born
in 1898 in Dona Ana County. Her family lived in Hatch/Rincon/Derry.
It is not yet known whether or not Basilia and Guadalupe were related. Basilias
parents were Victoriano APODACA, born about 1876 and Felisita LOBATO, born about
1880. Together they had 7 children, that I know of: Basilia, born in 1898;
Isidra; Inocente; Ernesto; Roberto, born September 1905; Apolonia; Fransisca,
born June 04, 1902. Fransisca married Tomas MARTINEZ, who was the son of
Guadulupes sister Tomasa.
Victoriano's mother is listed as Refugia "Cuca" LOVATO, born about
1854. Guadalupe, was at one time a judge, or justice of the peace and also a
mail carrier. Many members of this family are found in the Sierra County census
of 1900 in Derry. If anyone has any info at all, about any of the above
mentioned names, please email me. Thanks, Stephanie Apodaca email
APODACA / CHAVEZ / GONZALES / LINO / MAESE I Am conducting family research around the DONA ANA COUNTY areas. I would appreciate any information regarding my Great grandfathers death information, etc., etc. All of our family's elders have all passed away, and I got into this family research effort rather late in my life, and that is the reason our family history is so sketchy at this point. Our family is very appreciative. Please contact me at: [email protected] Tony

DELFIN / PEDRAZA / TELLES / TRUJILLO
My great grandfather Leandro Telles b. 1856 in Santo Tomas, NM and d. 1939 in
Jerome, AZ, and buried at San Miguel Cemetery in San Miguel, NM was married to
Leandra Rojas b. 1858 in Santo Tomas, NM and d. 1925 in San Miguel, NM. I have
been able to track both of them through a marriage record dated 7 Jan 1878 At
San Albino Catholic Church and the 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 census
reports. I have a death certificate for each of them and my great-grandmother
cites Santos Rojas and Martina Garcia as her parents, which I've been able to
confirm with an 1860 and 1870 census. Leandro on the other hand identifies his
parents as Pedro Telles and Luz Pedraza, however, I've been told that he is the
brother of Felicita Delfin. I located the Delfin family on the 1870 census and
it lists 6 children that includes Felicita and Leandro. Leandro is 12 and lives
2 houses away from Leandra who is 10. I have been able to locate a christening
record and a marriage record for! every child except Leandro. Every christening
record states that the parents were Juan Delfin and Luz Pedraza. I am trying to
confirm if
Leandro Telles and Leandro Delfin are one and the same. I've included the
Trujillo name because Felicita eventually married Alejandro Trujillo
in San Miguel and both of them lived and died there so perhaps this information
might ring a bell with someone. What throws off my
information is that I have a picture signed by Pedro Telles in 1876 and I have a
picture addressed to Leandro from his brother Hijinio Telles dated 1905. Luz
Pedraza lived to 108 and went back and forth with the Pedraza and Delfin name
and was never recorded as a Telles. Al Lowe

MARTINEZ / DOMINGUEZ
I'm researching the Martinez Family. My grandfater Cesario Dominguez
Martinez was born in Hatch, New Mexico on August 27, 1886. He died on July 2,
1957. He is buried in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, New Mexico.
Cesario was born to Pedro Martinez and Juanita Dominguez (1839 and died on
February 28, 1931); Pedro was born to Isidro Martinez and Monica (I don’t have a
maiden name for Monica). I believe Pedro and Juanita are buried in the Rodey
(El Colorado) Cemetery of the former San Francisco the Sales Parish. Very little
is known to me of the Martinez family that preceded
Cesario. Pedro, his father,(1827 and died on September 30, 1929) had several
brothers and at least one sister living in the Hatch area so I can safely state
that the family was here while New Mexico was still a territory and long before
New Mexico became a state in 1912. My paternal grandmother was Maria Rafaela
Chavez Martinez. She was born in Hillsboro, New Mexico on March 9, 1894. She
died on March 2, 1976. She
is buried in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, New Mexico. Rafaela was
born to Melquiades Martinez and Beatriz Chavez from Hillsboro, NM. . Any
information would be appreciated. .email

BLAKENEY / BLYTHE / SEELY / YARBROUGH
I am looking for information about John Allen "Pete" BLAKENEY who was
born 22 April 1876 in Uvalde County, Texas. He was the son of Thomas H. and
Louiza Amelia (BINGHAM) BLAKENEY. Pete married on August 31, 1902/03 to Levia or
Alevia "Leavie" YARBROUGH in Eddy County, New Mexico.Leavie was born
on 20 July 1882 in Texas, probably in McMullen County, the daughter of Lorenzo
Dow and Nancy Parilee (WHITE) YARBROUGH. It is from "Family Tradition"
from my grandmother that says about 1900 Leavie went by wagon train to Eddy
County and her parents may have been with her, but it is unclear. I have been
told that Dow YARBROUGH went to see about a homestead, but returned shortly back
to Texas, but by then Leave was already married to Pete BLAKENEY. These are the
children that I have for Pete and Leavie BLAKENEY: Infant twins born June 1,
1904, died in infancy, Berniece BLAKENEY--birth date unknown married L. N. Seely.
J. B. BLAKENEY who was born 2 April 1912 lived in California. He died 15 May
1862 of a massive heart attack in Artesia while home for his mother's funeral.
Both J. B. and his mother Leavie were buried in Carlsbad Cemetery on the same
day. Inez BLAKENEY married Mr. BLYTHE, John Allen, Jr. BLAKENEY and an unknown
female BLAKENEY. Leavie YARBROUGH is the sister to my great-grandmother Nancy
Pairlee YARBOUGH. The BLAKENEY family lived in the Artisia area of Eddy County.
I only have a bit of information about the BLAKENEY children and I would like to
learn more.I would like to know the story about how Leavie YARBROUGH got to Eddy
County, New Mexico. I have a great amount of information on the YARBROUGH family
