Obit: "C.D. Shell (Cornelius Dollison "Young Doc") Passes Away in Church
End came suddenly to aged man about to be elected stewart of Protestant Church.

C.D. Shell passed away Sunday morning during Church services at the Methodist Protestant Church. He had just finished an address to the Congregation relative to the election of a Board of Stewarts when the end came.

The Church has been without a Pastor for some time, and various leaders of the Congregation have been conducting services in the Auditorium Sunday mornings, until a permanent supply can be obtained. Yesterday was the day for election of a Board of Stewarts, and Mr. Shell had been proposed for membership.

He made a short talk to the Congregation, and resumed his seat. Almost immediately his breathing became labored and before a physician could reach his side, death came. Heart failure is given as the cause of death.

T.G. Fagan, a son in law of Mr. Shell, stated yesterday evening that his father-in-law was in his usual good health and spirits yesterday morning when he left home for church service, and no complaint was made by him at the Church, on the corner of Bibb and Moulton Streets. No cause is assigned by his family other than an attack of heart disease.

Mr. Shell was a native of Butler County, coming to Montgomery fifteen years ago from Greenville. He was 65 years old. He lived at No. 1146 N. Court Street and conducted a grocery store near his residence. He was a Confederate veteran, having served four years during the late Civil War.

Mr. Shell is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. R.L. Ellington, Jersey, Georgia; Mrs. T.H. Enzor, Andalusia, Ala; Mrs. J.G. Cantey and Mrs. T.G. Fagan of this City; three sisters, Miss Emma Shell, Montgomery; Mrs. Calvin Till, Georgiana; Mrs. Adelaide Arant of Downing; and one brother of the Downing vicinity.

Because of the inability of absent relatives to reach the city, funeral arrangements have not been completed; but it is stated interment will be made tomorrow."
