      Simon V de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester was the son of Simon de Montfort l'Amaury, leader of the crusade against the heretical Albigenses.3 He was born circa 1208 at Montfort-l'Amaury, Yvelines, Île-de-France, France.4,5 He was the son of Simon IV "le Macchabée" de Montfort, 5th Earl of Leicester and Alix de Montmorency.2 Simon V de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester was wholly French by birth and education.3 He renounced, on coming of age, to his eldest brother, Amaury, his claims on the family lands in return for the sole right to revive the Montfort claim to the English earldom of Leicester.3 He immigrated to England arriving 1229.3 He was helped by his cousin Ranulf, earl of Chester, the tenant of the confiscated Leicester estates of his father, he obtained the honour of Leicester and paid homage to Henry III in 1231.3 He married Eleanor Plantagenet, daughter of Jean "Sans Terre", roi d' Angleterre and Isabella, comtesse d'Angoulême, on 7 January 1238/39 at England; Her 2nd.1,6,3,7 Simon V de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester was formerly styled Earl of Leicester in April 1239.3 He was driven from England by Richard, Earl of Cornwall, in an angry baronial protest against him and his marriage to King Henry III's sister, who had made a vow of chastity, and without consultation with the English noblemen, in August 1239.3 He went on crusade with Richard, with whom he was now reconciled, and won great prestige among the lords of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem, who asked their absentee king, the emperor Frederick II, to appoint Simon as his viceroy there between 1240 and 1242.3 An unknown place ; Simon de Montfort, a close friend of the family, was the chief mourner at William's funeral.8 Simon V de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester was a witness where Roger, 6th Lord Mortimer supported King Henry III against Simon de Montfort and consequently lost his five hundred men-at-arms in the ensuing rout, barely escaping himself, in 1260 at the Battle of Lewes, England. Simon V de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester defeated the forces of Henry III in 1260 at the Battle of Lewes, England. 2nd Baron's War - Simon de Montfort defeated King Henry III. On 31 July 1265 at the Battle of Kenilworth, England.12 2nd Baron's War - The Crown defeats Simon de Montfort's, Earl of Leicester's, forces, killing and beheading him. On 4 August 1265 at the Battle of Evesham, Worcestershire, England.13 He was a witness where Roger, 6th Lord Mortimer took command of the vanguard in the victory over Simon de Montfort on 4 August 1265 at the Battle of Evesham, England. Simon V de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester died on 4 August 1265 at the Battle of Evesham, Worcestershire, England. He was killed and beheaded, and his head was sent to Lady Wigmore as a present.1,3 He was the predecessor of Edmund, styled "Crouchback," 1st Earl of Lancaster; 7th Earl of Leicester.14 Simon V de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester summoned William V, Lord Braose as Lord Braose on 8 June 1294.11

He married Helena Doukaina, daughter of despot of Epirus Michael II Doukas, circa 1260; His 2nd.3,10 Manfred von Staufen, King of Naples and Sicily further strengthened his position by the betrothal of his daughter Constance to the infante Peter of Aragon in 1260.6 He was the predecessor of Charles I "le Défenseur de l'Église", roi de Jérusalem et de Sicile; King of Sicily.11 Manfred von Staufen, King of Naples and Sicily negotiated with the new pope, Urban IV, but this came to nothing; and Urban, considering Alexander IV's agreement with England void, offered the Sicilian crown to Charles of Anjou before May 1265.6 He was a witness where Charles I "le Défenseur de l'Église", roi de Jérusalem et de Sicile defeated Manfred and Conradin, the last representatives of the Hohenstaufen dynasty, at Benevento and Tagliacozzo on 26 February 1266 at Italy. Manfred von Staufen, King of Naples and Sicily died on 26 February 1266 at near Benevento, Kingdom of Naples, at age 34 years. He was killed in battle fighting Charles of Anjou, who'd been given the Sicilian Kingdom by Pope Urban IV.1,4,6,7

     Isabelle de France was born in 1224.1 She was the daughter of Louis VIII "le Lion", roi de France and Blanche Alfonsez de Castilla.1 Abbesse de Longchamp before 1269.1 Isabelle de France died in 1269 at age 45 years.1
