While we now think the name should be read as Bonnet, it is possible that it was Bovet— due to the ambiguity of the script of the period (see the notes for Nicodus Bonnet or Bovet). The family appears to become extinct by the middle of the 16th Century. Published references show both Bovet and Bonet, without comment about the ambiguity of the script. The dossiers compiled by Hubert de Vevey show this name as Bovet. A later source (ACV Fm 4 bis, see below) shows Bonnet, and some contemporary sources could equally well be read as Bouvet or Bonnet.
Testament recorded (but now fragmentary) in a register attributed to Pierre Ruerat, notary at Payerne (ACV DP 92/1, last page of volume, dated 16 jun 1513; see below, this register is more likely the work of Franciscus Ruerat). By the end of 1513, she seems to have died. After the death of her father about 1479, she appears several times in her own name buying or selling property, etc.
Her testament requests burial in the abbey of Payerne, in a chapel founded by her husband Aymo de Torculari, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, at a place called "en Galiléaz". She divided her estate in equal portions among her children from both marriages, identifying them by name. The question of the burial location proved to be very complicated, but it now seems almost certain that the reference is to the "galilée" or porch of the abbey of Payerne, and most likely its upper level, which, following the tradition of Cluny, would have functioned as a chapel where the memorial masses for the dead were held. This space has been modified many times since the abbey was abandoned as a result of the protestant reformation, so there is probably no trace today of the burials of Perronete and her husband.
The Archives Cantonales Vaudoises has a terrier (ACV Fm 4 bis) dating from 1576, for "Noble Claude Fivaz l'aîné, Daniel Gachet et les hoirs de Jehan-Amey Gachet, à cause de leur censière procédée de feu Pernette Bonnet". This is surely a reference to the present Perronete, grandmother of the persons named, but in this case, the spelling suggests that the notary, two generations after her death, really believed her name was Bonnet rather than Bovet.
The citations mentioned in several old publications, whose sources we were unable to locate, have now turned up in the internet edition of the Généalogies des familles fribourgeoises of Humbert de Vevey on the http://doc.rero.ch web site. A copy of Perronete's testament is noted in AEF Hospital II, 246 (because of a bequest in this testament in favor of the hospital of Fribourg). And the earliest known mention of Aymon de Torculari, her second husband (1482), as schoolmaster for the French students of Fribourg, is in AEF Reg. Not. 66, fol. 388 (catalogue of the AEF indicates this is a register of the notary Guillaume Gruyères).
The two versions of the testament prove to be quite different. The first, in the register attributed to the notary Pierre Ruerat of Payerne, is in the third person, and has "etc." in several places. It appears to be a rough draft or "minute", to be filled out with the standard legal jargon of the period when a formal copy was made. The second version, from the charitable hospital of Fribourg, is in the first person, but it includes only a few of the main provisions, though some of the text is not found in the the first version. The details in the second version that are not found in the first were presumably filled out from the sections that were replaced by "etc." in the copy attributed to Pierre Ruerat. There is enough overlap, however, to fill in a few of the words that were nibbled away by mice in the first version. Neither version lists witnesses. The second version is clearly signed "F. Ruerat" (with paraphe). (The register attributed to Petrus Ruerat does not seem to include his name anywhere, and almost every item is followed by a small paraphe consisting of three dots and an N with a line through it. This small paraphe is in fact found in virtually all of the items in the personal register of debts in favor of the notary Nicodus Mehandi (Dp 65) that were signed by Franciscus Ruerat. Together with the signature on the abstract of the testament for the hospital of Fribourg, this evidence strongly suggests that the register Dp 92 is the work of Franciscus Ruerat, and not of Petrus Ruerat, whose existence does not seem to be attested by any other source.)
Assuming Perronete and her husband were actually buried in or adjacent to the "Galilée" or porch of the abbey of Payerne, exactly how would this be done? The most logical burial site would be beneath the stone floor of the narthex, but likely to one side or the other, where a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary might have stood. This raises the interesting possibility of a historic mistake: Is it possible that the remains that Col. de Dompierre excavated in the narthex in 1817 and which he believed to be those of Queen Berthe and subsequently installed in the old chapel of the Gachet family in the parish church, thus destroying any remaining inscriptions in the Gachet chapel, were actually those of Perronete, who would thus have found her way to a more fitting resting place, but under false pretenses? Unfortunately, it is not clear to us how Col. de Dompierre determined the ages of the burials he found. Some of his notes remain, still to be studied in detail, but they do not appear to give any insight into how he reached his conclusions, or even what he observed.

His daughter Perronete is noted as heir of the late Petrus Bonet, Bonnet, or Bovet 13 feb 1480, Pierre Moron (père), notary. In that document, highly abbreviated and as yet not well deciphered, there are mentions of the late Nicod Bonet, Bonnet, or Bovet, Jacob, Dom. Jacobus, and Pierre Bonet, Bonnet, or Bovet, seemingly other heirs. Pierre himself (if this is not a son) is alive as late as 25 jul 1479. There is also some possibility of confusion with a Bovat family, evidently a different family. Another possible source of confusion is that the spelling Bouet, intended to be read as Bovet, can also be read as Bonet, since the "n" and the "u" are usually indistinguishable in the script of the time, see the notes for Nicodus Bonnet (or Bovet?).
The theory advanced by Joseph Zimmermann, biographer of Peter Falk, that Perronete was the daughter of Pierre Ramuz of Fribourg, is without foundation, soundly refuted by an enormous number of documents from Payerne. Pierre Ramuz turns out to be the grandfather of the wife of Peter Falk.
In the "copy registers" of the Inventaire Blanc, a collection of documents compiled by the government of Bern in the 18th Century and then transferred to the new Canton of Vaud shortly after the Revolution of 1798, there is a document dated 16 mar 1455 that helps to establish some of the dates in this family (ACV Aa 12/4 no. 562). In this "reconnaissance", Jaquetus (written consistently as Bonet in these copy registers) son of the late Nicodus recognizes various properties at Payerne and Cugy subject to the Abbey of Payerne. Many of these parcels had already been given to his son Petrus, and Petrus appears in the document to acknowledge the obligations incumbent on these properties. Thus, Nicodus was already dead by 1455, and his grandson Petrus had apparently already reached the age of majority, thus born before 1430. Some of the properties came from paternal inheritance, others from maternal inheritance, but the mother of Jaquetus is, unfortunately, not named.

The name of the child is left blank in the baptismal record. She may have been the Jeanne Bontoux, daughter of Jean Daniel, who died at Moudon 07 sep 1734.
