Deacon at Giez 1623-1629, pastor at Provence (near Concise) 1629-1636, pastor at Onnens 1636-1638; no further record in the lists of pastors in the Dict. Hist. (Mottaz 1914). However, he is mentioned in interesting notations in the registers at Grandson. He studied at Lausanne (listed with his brother Samuel in the Livre de Recteur, 1609) and then at Basel, where he was enrolled in September, 1612 as "Eliseus Gelius Neocomensis".
Elisée's record book, still in the hands of the family, bears title page with his arms, motto "L'Esperance et la Foy portent mon Coeur au ciel", dated 1616. He includes a brief account of his life. There is a drawing of him preaching, in his 21st year.".

His account begins with his birth and baptism, the godfather being Elisée Parent.
A page entered by Jacob Robert, son of Elisée's daughter Magdelaine, records her death 20 dec 1673. In that record, she is identified as "fille du feu Elisée Gelieux ministre en son Vivant a Onnens et Bonvillars" (the latter place names written apparently in the same hand over the original St. Aubin, which is crossed out). This seems to be the only mention of Bonvillars.
Governess of the Princesses of Nassau-Weilburg. Age at death 59. One of her charges became the wife and then widow of the Prince of Anhalt Schauenburg Bernburg.
Witnesses were Spect. François du Voisin, minister at St. Maurice, Noble Anthoine de Neuchatel Baron de Gorgie, Dem. Dorothée Thomasse, Dem. Jeanne Louise Bourgeois.
