d. 28 Dec 1942 in Wyanet; bur. in Forest Hills Cemetery, Wyanet, IL

Frank and Martha married in 1897, likely in the Zion Separate Baptist Church in Maple, KY. Maple is a small region near the junction of Taylor, LaRue, and Green counties. They had six children in Kentucky; the first, Carrie, died as an infant. Sometime around 1908, the family migrated north to Bureau Co., IL. Many other families made the same migration; associated names include Shofner and Wright. The family settled in Wyanet, where Frank worked as a laborer for the railroad. Their youngest two children were born in Wyanet.

Frank and Martha were divorced 18 Sep 1922. Martha stayed in Wyanet, where she lived out her years. She passed away in 1942, at the age of 64. Frank returned to Kentucky, where he married Betty Shofner in 1924. He passed away in 1935.

1. Eliza Carrie Thompson, b. 16 Dec 1897; d. 21 Oct 1898.
2. Ivory Ethel Thompson, b. 27 Jan 1899; d. 10 Feb 1976. She m. (1) Orrin ATKINSON 19 Mar 1917. They had children Francis Vivian, Allen, and Cecil. She m. (2) Fred Knap in 1948.
3. Carl Sherman Thompson, b. 25 Jul 1900; d. 5 May 1959. He m. (1) Mae M. CROCKER 24 Dec 1919. They had child Helen. He m. (2) Betty (DILLMAN) OLSON in 1944. They had child Earl Sherman.
4. Lovie Mae Thompson, b. 20 Apr 1902.
5. Elliot Hubert Thompson, b. 13 Sep 1904; d. 4 Nov 1980. He m. (1) Gertrude GARMAN 5 Nov 1921. They had children Lillian, Inez, and Wilmer. He m. (2) Dorothy KESSLER 21 Jan 1940.
6. Mattie Jane Thompson, b. 14 Sep 1906; d. 25 Jan 1981. She m. Virgil ROBINSON 24 Dec 1923. They had children Roger, Juanita, Melvin.
7. Lorney Orval Thompson, b. 11 Apr 1912; d. 15 Mar 1962. He m. Marianna Doris HOMES 23 Jul 1933. They had children Barbara, Louis, Thomas, and Jerry.
8. Hansford Thompson, b. 23 Mar 1918; d. 26 Jan 1990. He m. Lucille --?-- 16 Sep 1950. They had child Beverly.
