I am looking for information on a William Ratliff and Belinda Taylor, married on Dec 7, 1880, according to Reynolds County marriage records. I have a 1900 Reynolds County census record with a William Ratliff (b. Jan, 1861) married to a Melinda (b. July, 1861- maiden unknown). Their children include Jobe, Arrie (female), William Walter, Jerome, and Annie. Listed also is William Ratliff's brother Nathan living with them. The William Ratliff in the 1900 census was my gg-grandfather. My question is, was the "Belinda" Taylor in the marriage records and the "Melinda" recorded in the census the same person? I know it's a long shot, but so far it's all I've got. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Shane Ratliff

PARKER was registered with the Reynolds Cty Clerks Office to practice medicine in 1880 and shows on Reynolds Cty Property Tax list in 1890. 1880 Cencus shows that Elizabeth Ann BOWERS mother Susan BOWERS was living with them at the time of Cencus. Elexander LEWIS, b 18 Mar 1829 in Reynolds Co., married to Kizia CHITWOOD, b 27 Oct 1829, place unknown. Kizia's first marriage was to a PRUITT. Their son is my great-grandfather, William Wayne LEWIS, b 13 Sep 1851 in Reynolds Co. Married Susan Mahala KELL, b 4 June 1850 in Tennessee. I am not sure that Susan ever lived in Reynolds County. William and Susan raised their family near Eunice in Texas, County. William had a brother, Jake, who had sons William Van and Euhl. They were in KY in 1838, and by 1840 they were in Reynolds County, MO. Susanah's last child was born in 1850. I am hoping someone has an obituary for her, and (wishful thinking) some idea who her parents were.
