anscestors of Joshua MARTIN who lived in Gallatin County around
1836.

Elizabeth SAMPSON married in White County 19 May 1825. Is Isaac
related to Joshua BROWNING that married Fanny Hall 25 Sept. 1825
in White County? Joshua then married Juliann McHenry 5
Nove.1835. Joshua moves to Pike County, Il. Isaac moves to
Gallatin, then Pope County in Ill. I would appreciate any help I

- I'm looking for the family of Martha A
THOMAS, born about 1861 in Ohio and moved with her family to
Hamilton Co sometime in the 1860's. Some of her brother's names
were John, Joseph, Ruben, and Cornelius. Their parents were
A.J.'Jack' Thomas and Elisabeth ANGEL. Martha married Samuel R
BOND in 1882. I'm wondering if any other Thomas's have
researched this Thomas family at all, and where in Ohio they
came from.

- Looking for Nathaniel SIMPSON. Last record of him
was 5 Jan 1833 in a letter from John LANE to Henry EDDY,
attorney. SIMPSON was in "Rock and Cave Township",
Gallatin County, IL. James FORD bought SIMPSON's land in 1833.
John SIMPSON is mentioned. Don't know his relationship. Also
mentioned is a Dr. THOMAS, who was being sued by FORD. Was
Vincent B. SIMPSON a brother to Nathaniel? Note: Vincent B.
SIMPSON is believed to have been murdered by Henry SHAUSE, one
of FORD's outlaws. Would like genealogical information, date of
birth, date of death, wife's name, etc.

- SCRIBNER Seek information on the
Scribner family which moved through Gallatin Co. in the later
1840's. 1850 Pulaski County, MO census shows Eliza Wilkerson,
21, and Mary A. MCINTIRE, 20, in adjoining households with 4
younger SCRIBNERS: Susan, 15, Miranda, 15, James, 17, and
Martha, 6. (Eliza) Jane Scribner married Marvel Wilkerson in
Gallatin County in Nov 1847 (have copy of marriage record). The
igi says that Mary Ann Scribner married Thomas MCINTIRE there 12
Oct 1847, but I could not find a copy of this marriage record.
Can anyone verify if the marriage took place in Gallatin Co.?
Also, a John Scribner married widow Elizabeth Martin 16 Aug 1849
in Gallatin Co. John, 48?, appears on the 1850 Gallatin County
mortality schedules. All 7 Scribners were born in Tennessee. Any
help in identifying this famiy will be greatly appreciated.

- CUNNINGHAM LOGAN Mary S. CUNNINGHAM the wife
of John A. LOGAN was born in Sturgeon, MO in 1838. Her father,
Captain John M. CUNNINGHAM served in the Black Hawk War and in
the Mexican War, and was a member of the Illinois legislative in
1845-46. Mary S. CUNNINGHAM assisted her father in the duties of
Sheriff in Gallation County. John A. LOGAN was the prosecuting
attorney of Gallation County. They married in Shaweetown 1855. I
am trying to confirm the information stated above, I am also
looking for addtional information on family of Mary S.
CUNNINGHAM.

information on my g grandfather John R. SUMMERS. He died about
1905 and was supposed to be buried in Ridgeway cemetery in
Gallatin county. His nickname was Hurricane Summers because he
repaired buildings that were damaged by tornados or storms.

the RILEY family (James or John) who owned land in the early
1800's in Gallatin County, IL . I have determined that John
owned several pieces of land in Gallatin County and that his
widow continued to buy land after his death. His son Pinckney
was my gggrandfather. His son Joseph Aquilla Riley was my
ggrandfather and his son C.W. RILEY was my grandfather. I have
been unable to find much information about his life in Gallatin
County nor anything about his father James. I do not know James
wife's name nor any other children's names. Nothing is know
