COOK. Born ca. 1828 IL. Married Absalom R. DUNCAN in Gallatin
Co. IL. on March 26, 1843 He was the son of John DUNCAN and Ula
Ann KILLIAN. After their marriage the couple moved to Macoupin
Co. IL before 1850. Patience Lavina COOK DUNCAN died in Macoupin
Co., Il. June 1863. First child Sylvester A. DUNCAN was born in
Saline Co., Il. about 1844.

parents or siblings of Daniel MCDANIEL. I have been told that
Daniel's father was a twin and that his mother was native
american (1/4 or 1/2) Daniel MCDANIEL and Lena Pearl ABSHER
lived in Cairo, Ill after marring and lived on Elm St. Daniel
built his mother a house on this same street. Known siblings of
Daniel were: Everette MCDANIEL, Ernest MCDANIEL, John MCDANIEL
and Ella MCDANIEL who married Roscoe LAUNIUS and they moved and

AKERS. The children of this union were Thomas, Susan, Washington
and William. His second wife was Elizabeth TODD and their
children were John, Jackson and Flavius Josephus. William AKERS
is listed on the petition to Congress in 1809 for the purpose of
purchasing land. This took place in Shawneetown and much is
known of his later life.

early south-central KY. Jonathan BOONE and his son, Joseph BOONE
had a grist mill here in Barren Co. KY before moving to Gallatin
Co. I have just learned of a plaque honoring them "in a little
village of New Haven, on the Little Wabash River." I would
dearly love to get a photocopy of this plaque for insertion in
my book - you would be fully credited for same! I am an in-home
publisher of genealogical/historical materials in south central
KY and an area historian ... I am NOT a big company! Can anyone

lived in the Southern Illinois area at the turm of the century.
I have a page of the old family bible listing the marriage of
George W. Morten to Mary A. Rice in Gallatin County, Il. on
9/4/1881. They had six children (Mary A., Andrew A., Thomas D.,
Noble V., Lury A., Mary G. and Sabia A.). Thomas D. was my
grandfather who married Lenora Lane on 12/4/1905 and settled in
Marmaduke, Arkansas. Any information on family history during

born in Tennessee. In 1860, Benjamin was living with Jemima J.
TARLETON. Ellen's mother Elnora BRAY was also born in Tennessee.
I beleive there was a Margara Tarleton in the family also but

benjamin franklin and BRAY, ellen, both born in Gallatin Cty.,
Ill. in 1848. Benjamin's parents or grandparents were Richard
and Sarah TARLETON, who he was living with in 1850. Both were
born in Tennessee. The 1850 census shows them in Shawneetown,
Gallatin, Cty., Ill. In 1860, Benjamin was living with Jemima J.
TARLETON, but still in Shawneetown. Ellen's mother Elnora BRAY
was also born in Tennessee. Benjamin and Ellen were married in
Gallatin, Cty. but later moved to Walker Cty., Al. I beleive
there was a Margara Tarleton in the family also but don't know
her connection. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

- Looking for information on William CRENSHAW
(b. 1824 or 1828 in KY) and his first wife Sarah SMITH. William
was probably a nephew of John Hart Crenshaw, and may have lived
at Hickory Hill Plantation. William and Sarah were married in
Gallatin Co. 12 Jan 1848. Sarah is believed to have died there
in 1860. William enlisted in the 110th IL Volunteer Infantry,
saw action in KY before being taken ill and receiving a
disability discharge. His relatives appeared to have believed
that he died in the war, but in fact he survived, married again,
and fathered ten children.

- I am looking for information on my
grandfather, Elmer BOUTWELL. He had brothers Lawrence and
Elbert. The parents were John BOUTWELL and Molly QUICK BOUTWELL.
I have no knowledge of any dates involved although I would
assume that Elmer BOUTWELL was probably born between 1900-1910.
I believe he might have died around 1957.

Gallatin Co, Illinois. Did he leave any records there? Is the

23 Nov. 1867 in Shawneetown. He is buried(born 1 Mar 1845, died
25 Feb 1902) in Westwood Cemetery, but she isn't, her death date
has not been entered on stone, no record of death in Gallatin
County. Any help with Thomas's parents background
appreciated.(He is listed as born in Tennessee.) Elizabeth (born
28 Mar 1847) is listed as born in Hepan Darmstadt, Germany.
Elizabeth's parents were Jacob (born ca. 1822) and Elizabeth
Seelinger( born ca 1828). He is probably the son of Jacob
Seelinger born in Lampetheim, Hessonia, Germany born before
1805.

the family of Dred DUGGER, born 1781 in VA; died 7 Oct 1856 in
Gallatin Cty., IL; buried in Edward's Cem., White Co., IL. He
mar.Millie? (DUGGER). They had the following children: Allen
DUGGER (b. 1805), Emily DUGGER, Hardy C. DUGGER, Elizabeth
DUGGER, John Harrison DUGGER (b. 14 Mar 1814), George Washington
DUGGER, Dr. (b. 1819), Lucy DUGGER (b. 1823), Wiley DUGGER,
Margaret DUGGER. Dred fought in the War of 1812. Served under
General Jackson at the battle of New Orleans. Emigrated to
Illinois in 1829 and was one of the early settlers of Gallatin
County. There he farmed on ground received from the government.
He remained on the farm for the rest of his life.
