who died abt. 1833 in Gallatin County. Some of his children
were: Isaac; Rhoda md. John ABAR; Dorcas md. (John?) DAWSON;
John, Nancy md. Bennett HILL; Sarah md. Reuben BELLAH; Lydia md.
James MILLER; Mary Ann md. John GOFORTH; and Elisha. Also
interested in the DAWSON family, children of Dorcas Wilson
Dawson.

Abraham C. MILLER of White County Illinois. This is for my
friend James C. ODAM, of Carmi. We think this MORRIS family
might have owned an inn at New Haven, Illinois, on the White--
Gallatin border.

KY in 1852. Found in Hardin Co, IL 1860 census. Children, George
W., James BLUFORD, John W. and others. No further trace. Did he

information on Peter MCMURCHY b. 4/8/1813 in Scotland, Lived in
Ohio and moved to Shawneetown, Il. date unknown. He operated
extensive flour mills in Shawneetown. Would like to know
marriage/children/death info. I have his family information back
to Scotland and lots of info on his 10 brothers and sisters.

- Gallatin CO. Illinois Query: I am looking for any
descendents or info about Ephraim HUBBARD. He came to
Shawneetown (Gallatin) IL in 1809, he has an orignal land grant
registered in 1818, he died in 1828. It seems that most of his
property went to his son Ephraim HUBBARD Jr. If anyone out their

Co. Census. Did they move to southern Ill. from Crittenden and

- Chris Shain Surnames: SHAIN, PARSONS I am looking
for information on any SHAIN ancestors in Gallatin or Saline
counties. I know of gg gfather Amos SHAIN (b. 1833) in Saline
county and his father James Shain (b. in KY or TN) around 1807.
He moved to Gallatin county, then Saline county. Amos' ancestors
(James A., James Aubrey, David and Michael SHAIN) moved to
Sikeston, MO in late 1800's. Any info would be useful.

Martha ?? , she was born 1801 in S.C. Census info. gives the
following: Martha GREER, b. 1801 S.C. with sons, William M. born
1826 in Tenn., and Francis M. born 1830, Ill. My line is thru
F.M. GREER. It is his father that I am looking for. Do not know
for sure, but believe F.M. Greer was born Gallatin Co.,Ill. Can
anyone help? Research makes me believe that it is possible that
the father is either an "Abraham", son of
"Asa" or "Aquilla". I have this line on my
father's side, which ended up Hudson, and the missing man is on

- Harvey D. PORTERFIELD is listed as a
resident of a hotel working as a shoemaker in the Equality
precinct of Gallatin Co. in 1850. At that time, he was 41 years
old. My information states that he died in 1853. Did he die in
Gallatin Co. and is he buried there? How many years did he
reside there? I will share information about the Porterfield
family with any who are interested.

researching my ggggrandfather William STORY who purchased land
in Illinois in 1837. My Gggrandfather Francis STORY bought land
in Shawneetown, Illinois, was living there in 1857 with his wife
Sarah STORY and 4 children. I would appreciate hearing from
