Robinson Constitution - April 19, 1899; page 1, column 3

Monday's dailies contained accounts of the death of Miss Gertrude Walters, formerly of this city, in the work-house at Indianapolis from the effects of a leap from the work-house balcony to the cement floor below, a distance estimated by some papers at fifteen feet and others at forty, the difference of opinion arising from a lack of certainty as to which floor she leaped from.

The unfortunate girl's remains were expressed to Robinson yesterday and interred in the city cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. C. A. Beckett.
