Frank J. Phillippe, 85, rural Flat Rock, died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Home in Robinson, IL after an extended illness. He was born May 25, 1922 in Montgomery Township, IL, the son of Raymond Phillippe and Zada Kent Phillippe.

He served in the U.S. Army in Europe and was a member of the V.F.W. and the Crawford County Farm Bureau.

He married Maxine Felton on August 30, 1943 and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Frances Thomas and Lottie Felton; and his brother Kent Phillippe; his brother-in-law, Robert Felton; and his sister-in-law, Kathleen Burbank.

He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank K. and Pam Phillippe, Flat Rock, Gary Dean and Debbie Phillippe, Flat Rock; 1 daughter, Ada Correll, Palestine; 7 grandchildren, Jeffery Phillippe, Tamara Dompe, Angela Ferguson, Laura Phillippe, Wendie Hughes, Matthew Phillippe, Brian Correll; 8 great-grandchildren, Savanah Phillippe, Maddelyn Byrley, Jacob Ferguson, Katelynn Ferguson, Cody Correll, Caleb Correll, Dylan Hughes, and Halle Hughes; 2 step great-grandchildren, Whitney Gullett and Brittney Dompe; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 1, 10 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock, with Rev. Bill McCluskey in charge of services. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 31, from 5-7 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549, Robinson American Legion Post # 69, Flat Rock American Legion Post # 132 and Amvet Post #33. Memorials can be made to the V.F.W. Transportation Fund, with envelopes at the funeral home.
