Wayne Wendell Mills, 88, of rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 6:07 p.m. EST, Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. He was born May 30, 1915 in Bethel Springs, TN, the son of Gould Mills and Marna Smith Mills.
He worked for Herb Knotts, Bob Hancock, and Dan Wachtel Ford for over 20 years. He was a farmer and a member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, rural Flat Rock, IL.
He married Helen Dunlap October 10, 1935 and she preceded him in death on April 30, 1995. His parents; 2 daughters, Deloris Mills & Elaine Shick; 2 sisters, Naomi Fox & Mildred Rinsch also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, David Mills, Robinson; a son-in-law, Richard Shick, Robinson; a sister, Dorothy Mills, Lawrenceville; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Wesley, Flat Rock; a brother-in-law, Arnold Rinsch, Freelandville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15th, at the Charlottesville Cemetery, Lawrence County, IL with Chaplain Steve Murray officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
