Ruth Kathleen Miller, 86, of Decatur, AL, formerly of Flat Rock, IL, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the Decatur General Hospital, Decatur, AL. She was born March 18, 1918, the daughter of James A. Duncan and Blanche Tedford Duncan. She was a long time employee of Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson.
She married E. Merle Miller and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Marie Brown, Florence Duncan, and Wilma Duncan; and 1 brother, Emerson "Ted" Tedford.
She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Jan Miller, Fayetteville, TN, Bill and Jan Miller, Rockvale, TN; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra L. and Glen Knotts, Sullivan, IN, Wilma J. and Kenneth Henson, Decatur, AL; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Hubert and Ruth Duncan, Yuba City, CA; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Irmajean Duncan LaBaun and George LaBaun.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 8, 2004 at the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock, IL. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock is in charge of local arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Jones Cemetery Care Fund with envelopes available at the Goodwine Funeral Home. Arrangements in Decatur, Alabama were by the Shelton Funeral Home.
