Lyle Warren Magill, 79, of Flat Rock, IL, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2004 at Lawrenceville Manor, Lawrenceville, IL. He was born October 25, 1924 in Flat Rock, IL, the son of Chester F. Magill and Dorothy E. Magill. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 34 years. He was a Pilot, Air Craft and Flight Commander during WWII. He served as a Major during the Korean Conflict, Cuban Crisis, and Dominican Civil War. He served in the Air Force Reserves, and was a civilian instructor, supervisor, and training manager for the U.S. Air Force. He was a member and active chair of the Boards and Missions of the Beauvoir United Methodist Church.

He married Reba Ford July 5, 1947 and she survives. His son, Michael Alan Magill also survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Marcus Magill.

Private family graveside services were held Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock, IL with Rev. Jeff Haley in charge of services. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock was in charge of arrangements.
