James W. "Jim" Drennen, 65, Palestine, Illinois died Monday February 21, 2005 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center Robinson, Illinois. Jim was born March 20, 1939 in Crawford County three miles East of Oblong, IL. He was the son of Byron Boyd Drennen and Mary (Hyre) Drennen. Jim was a tool and die operator in Chicago then returned to Oblong in 1955 where he worked for the Oblong Water Department for several years. Jim attended Oblong schools. His was a member of the Palestine AMVETS Post 33 and his hobbies were mushroom hunting and fishing.
Jim is survived by his mother Mary Drennen; three sons Ritchie, Jay and Justin Drennen; three daughters and a son-in-law Jamie & Mike Watkins, Jodie Redmon and Julie Lockett; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and a cousin Peggy Watson.
Jim's dad preceded him in death.
Burial will be in Watts Cemetery, Oblong, IL.
