Gladys Mae Coatney, 87 of Robinson, IL, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, March 05, 2007 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. She was born May 4, 1919 in Oblong, IL, the daughter of George Lyman Melton and Emma Harris Melton.

She had been a cook at local nursing homes. She married Everett Littlejohn in 1938.

She then married Joe Coatney in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She is also preceded in death by her parents; her son Charles Everett Littlejohn; 2 grandsons; 1 great grandson; and her 3 brothers, George, Lloyd, and Elmer Melton; her 6 sisters, Rachel Garrard, Corie Littlejohn, Della Waldrop, Dolly Bryant, Ada Newton, and Susie Melton in infancy; and her son-in-law, Joe Goff.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Virginia Goff, Hutsonville and Helen Mae and her husband Floyd Tracy, Oblong; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Prentice and Nancy Littlejohn, Robinson, David D. and Phyllis L. Littlejohn, Hardinville, and Joe Coatney, Robinson; several grand children, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Lyman and Barb Melton, Belair; and her 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Melton, Texas and Elsie and Leo Flynn, Sullivan, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 7th at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Pastor David Ducommon is in charge of services. Burial is in the Harmony Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6th.
