Raydell Bartmess, 85 of Robinson, IL, died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. She was born October 22, 1921 in Annapolis, IL, the daughter of Henry Sellars and Ima Lingafelter Sellars.
She was a retired bookkeeper and secretary for Mathuska Oil Co. for many years. She was active with the 4H, PTA, Crawford County Home Extension, and attended the West Union Baptist Church.
She married John Brooks Bartmess September 17, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 26, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son Stephen Brooks Bartmess; an infant brother, Henry; her sister, Dorotha Chambers; her brother and sister-in-law, Doyne and Marge Bartmess; and brother-in-law, Paul Marbry.
Survivors include her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John M. and Beverly Bartmess, Ashton, IL, William Brian and Jane Brackett, Hutsonville, Thomas Lee and Chris Bartmess, Canton, NY; her 2 daughters Kathleen Dart, Robinson and Constance Louise Bartmess, Terre Haute, IN: 9 grand children; 15 great grandchildren; and her sister, Lucille Marbry, New Mexico.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2nd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Pastor Donald Russell is in charge of services. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes at the funeral home.
