Bartlett F. Allen of Carlisle, Indiana was born west of Flat Rock, Honey Creek Township, Crawford County about the year 1838 to James and Josanna (Ford) Allen. He departed this life Jan. 20, 1910 and was 72 years old. He has lived in Crawford until about 16 years of age when he moved to Indiana where has lived the remainder of life with his daughter, Mrs. Nancy Racey. He was married to Miss Pearlisia Elizabeth Shoulders. Whom departed this life about 34 years ago. To this union were born 4 children James L. Allen and Mrs. Nancy Jane Racey of Carlisle, Ind., and Mrs. Ida May Drummond of Oaktown Ind. all of whom survive but Elizabeth Landrith whom departed this life about 2 years ago.
Mr. Allen has but one sister, living Mrs. Angeline Simons of Crawford Co.
