Cemetery destroyed (GPS: 38.999756, -87.610543). There is also a Lagow family cemetery in Russell Township, Lawrence County, immediately south of Crawford County's Montgomery Township at GPS (approximately) (38.784733, -87.541069).
Land for the Lagow cemetery was deeded for a cemetery forever. However, east La Motte Street in Palestine covers this cemetery today. The headstones have been placed in two rows in section 7, near the flagpole at the northwest gate of the older (south) half of the Palestine cemetery. Some, but apparently not all, of the family's remains were relocated with the stones.
