The Grave Dedication service followed a 1917 GAR grave dedication service that was orchestrated by Camp Commander LaBrot. The members of the Lt. Cmdr Edward Lea U.S.N. Camp #2's color guard placed a canteen and a rifle at the grave of Sarah Emma Edmonds Seelye, and then Camp Commander LaBrot placed an evergreen wreath and a small flag at the grave. This was followed by a military gun salute that was performed by members of the Edward Lea Camp, as the salute was taking place, Camp Commander LaBrot saluted the grave of Sarah Emma Edmonds Seelye.

that was written by Patricia Mullenix, PNP of the DUVCW; and Vali Reyes, President of the Sarah Emma Edmonds Seelye Auxiliary #1] After the poem was read, the GAR Marker that also included an American Flag was placed in the ground next to the grave of Sarah Emma Edmonds Seelye by Martha Class and Vali Reyes.

The Sarah Emma Seelye Auxiliary #1 and the Sarah Emma Edmonds Detached Tent #4 are both named for Sarah Emma Edmonds Seelye, who served in the Civil War under the name Frank Thompson from 1861-1863.
