BELGAM, LEE, SVARTAAS, SVARTOS, SWARTOS posted by Eunice Bullis on Sunday, April 7, 2002: I know that the Patriarch and Matriarch of the family who came from Norway were Andreas SVARTAAS (Andrew SVARTOS) and Karen LEE/SVARTOS. Their oldest child Peder SVARTAAS (Peter SWARTOS) is our grandfather. We have little-to-no information in regard to Peter - not even a picture. His wife Lena (Carolina Bertina Oliva BELGAM) we have even less background on (we know that she was orphaned in Norway). Can anyone help us with info on Peter and Lena? I have pictures of Andrew, Karen, & Peter's siblings. Does anyone have a picture of Peter? According to the 1900 census Lena was the mother of 3 children, 2 of whom were still living. Does anyone know the birth/death dates of the infant (1896-1899)? Was it given a name? Where is it buried?

DELONG, GASCONIGNE posted by Marilyn Galoff on Thursday, July 11, 2002: I am looking for any information on George DELONG and his family. He died in Brookings in 1973. His wife Murel in 1976. His parents were Henry and Rebecca GASCONIGNE DELONG. George was born in Huron in 1893, and had siblings of Pearl, Ada Mary, Henry W. and Mabel. His father was born in Canada and came to Wisconsin about 1860 with the rest of his family. His mother was born in Wisconsin. Henry moved to South Dakota about 1882, when it was still a territory. Henry also was a Civil War Veteran. Anything on George would be helpful.
