I am seeking information on Ed REEVES and Edith WALLACE. According to the Brookings, Dakota County Press, they were married about June 29, 1888 by Reverend English, the Pastor of the Huron Baptist Church. Ed REEVES was an assistant in the Bank of Brookings. The newly married couple settled in East Brookings on the "Deeth Property". Thanks for any information anyone may have on this couple.

According to an old letter I have seen: Peter MCCABE and his family came to Brookings Co S. Dakota (1878). He was elected Register of Deeds (1890) of Brookings and moved to the city of Brookings where he opened a R.E.&L. office. He died 13 Sept 1896. Another note states that he was a candidate for Governor in 1896, the year that he died. I did find Peter's widow Jane and some of her children in the 1900 census of Brookings. Does anyone have any information on this family or have knowledge that the story of being Register of Deeds and candidate for Governor is true?
