Marjorie Marie Robertson was born Oct 2, 1920, in Woodward, Oklahoma to George Raymond Hamilton and Ruby Charlotte (Inman) Hamilton. She attended Woodward grade schools until moving to Oklahoma City in 1932 where she entered Webster Jr. High and later graduated from Central High School in 1938. Marj was a student her entire life by reading and learning everything she could about the arts, history, animals, and political issues. She developed and nurtured an amazing breadth and scope to these and other subjects. She cherished her many friends, some of whom where life long.

In 1943 she married Chet Robertson just before he was sent to the South Pacific with the US Army Air Corps. While Chet was serving his country, Marjorie worked at Douglas Aircraft in Oklahoma City as part of her war effort. Upon Chet's return in 1946 they finally took up residence in Oklahoma City and Marj was a homemaker and loving mother of two children. In 1964 she joined her husband in establishing Haymaker Sales Company, which they operated successfully until his death in 1977. Chet was the personality of the company and Marj, according to Chet, was the brains. She then became a devoted Grandmother to four grandchildren, a world traveler, and a volunteer at the Kirkpatrick Museum, National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, and World Neighbors. She also supported the Oklahoma City Zoo, Oklahoma City Art Museum, Ballet Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Theater, among others.

She considered her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild her finest achievements.

She is survived by a son, Michael and his wife, Trisha Robertson and their sons, Chris and Carter Robertson; a daughter, Patricia and her husband, Robert Wilson and their daughter, Katie Nava and their son Travis Wilson; a great grandchild, Carlos Alberto Nava; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2005, in the Chapel at Resurrection Cemetery at 7801 Northwest Expressway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, 1700 NE 63rd St., Oklahoma City, OK 73111.
