22 May 1981: Auto Accident Kills Actor's Mother The 81 year old mother of actor Dale Robertson was killed Thursday night in a two car accident near a northeast Oklahoma City restaurant. Officer J M Einhorn said the car in which Mrs Varvel R Robertson was riding was struck by an oncoming westbound vehichle on NW 50 as it was preparing to turn left into the parking lot of the Sleepy Hollow Restaurant, 1101 NE 50. Mrs Robertson of 5505 N Brookline was pronounced dead at the scene, Einhorn said. He identified the driver of the car in which Robertson was riding as Larry J Housh, 4117 NW 62 Terrace. Neither Housh nor Jessie Barrientz, 2120 N Stonewall, the driver of the other car, were issued citations, the police said. Robertson, who lives on a Yukon farm, has portrayed western heros in television shows and in movies.
