Oklahoma Co. Obituary & Surname Index

Finding Newspaper Obituaries

An old obituary for an ancestor is a gem indeed!  Locating obituaries can be a chore but once a find is made, it is well worth the effort.  Start with what you know and work from there.  If you can pinpoint the place of death, start your obituary search with newspapers in that area.  Another good idea is to search the  newspapers in the area where the deceased person's descendants lived.
