MOYE, DANCY
Wyatt Moye was born on 30 Apr 1793. He died on 21 Oct 1862 on the Dancy Plantation, St. Mary's Parish, LA and was buried in the Episcopal Church Yard, Tarboro, NC. Wyatt's wife Martha {maiden name unknown}, was born on 9 Feb 1804 and died on 25 May 1845. Martha also is buried in the Episcopal Church Yard, Tarboro, NC. Wyatt is referred to in two references as General but I have no idea as to the source of this title. He is also referred to twice as being from Mississippi.

Wyatt and Martha had a daughter Martha Caroline who married William Francis Dancy on 7 May 1850 in Columbus, MS. Following their marriage, William Francis and Martha Caroline (my ancestors) returned to the Dancy home near Tarboro, NC. Wyatt and Martha Moye also had two other daughters, Louisa and Sally Ann, and a son William Wyatt Moye. Reference is made in the Edgecombe County, NC records to a deed of gift from Wyatt Moye of Monroe County, MS to his son-in-law William F. Dancy and his wife Martha Caroline Moye Dancy, 1 Nov 1851. It is because of this deed record that I believe that Wyatt Moye came from Monroe County, MS.
I would appreciate any information or suggestions that would assist me in my investigation of facts related to Wyatt Moye, his wife Martha and their ancestors. Thanks.

MARTIN
Needed -1850 Monroe County Census Lookup, page 46, Merrit Martin. We are tracing a Merrit Martin from Marion Co. AL who purchased land on the Buttahatchee River East of Hamilton AL. We have him on the 1840 census, but it only has number of people in age groups. The fact that a Merret Martin appears one county over in 1850 census, and not before or after (for Monroe Co. MS) leads me to believe he moved on before he died. I believe he had a son named Samuel Martin who moved back to Marion Co. and lived with William John Martin because he showed up in the household in the Marion Co. 1860 census.

PHILLIPS
I am seeking information on ELISHA PHILLIPS shown in the 1860 census in Western Division of Monroe, Co. along with his wife Martha? and two children. Elisha was born in AL, Martha born in TENN and both children in MS. In 1865 Elisha was in Chicot Co., AR where he re-married. Martha must have died between 1860 and 1865. Elisha's occupation was shown as a blacksmith but I believe he was also a preacher, possibly hard shell Baptist. I don't know if he was in the war between 1860 and 1865 or not. Any info would be appreciated.
