Maine Census Resources
1860 Federal Census

The 1860 schedules were almost identical to those for 1850, but the 1860 census was the first to inquire about the value of each free person's personal estate. The Maine 1860 Census records are extant for all counties.

Maine in 1860 consisted of the following counties: Aroostook, Androscoggin, Cumberland, Hancock, Franklin, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Sagadahoc, Somerset, Waldo, Washington, and York.

There are two terrific Census Projects run by USGenWeb Project members.
