Aloha! Hello! I am Robert Sizelove, Sr., and I am the county coordinator for Kauai County!
I am pleased to announce our 4th
query to this page! -Hello, Looking for information on:
Helen Elena Nunes DeCambra, born in 1886 Kapaa Kauai Hawaii.
I am trying to locate a living distant cousin James K. Cummings, born in 1962.
He was the son of Matthew R. and Patricia Delores (Solms) Cummings. Ruth (Crichton) Cummings was a first
wife of Matthew. I don't know if there was death or divorce, but the second wife Patricia was the mother
of the children., and was most recently living in Lihue and Kalaheo, Kauai. I have his ancestry back to
Joseph Comins, b. ca 1680, of Hopkinton, MA and can trace the family's movements to CT, NY, WI, SD, CA, and HI.
I would like to correspond with him regarding his ancestry and compare notes with my research. My e-mail
address is [email protected].
Thank you.

I am looking for information on Laszlo De Csaby, my husbands great uncle. Laszlo was born May 10, 1901 in Veszprem, Hungary. He immigrated to Canada in the 1920s and to the US sometime after 1942. He died in Lihue on September 14, 1996. I was hoping to find the cemetery where he was buried in Lihue. I would appreciate any information available.
Thank you.
Kathleen Ladislaus British Columbia, Canada Between April 28 and May
2nd, 1883, the ship Ehrensfels from Bremen, Germany arrived at
Honolulu with 806 immigrant workers - nearly all were to be assigned to 2
plantations on Kauai - Lihu'e and Koloa Plantations. I am
trying to determine if H. BISSEN [Henry William Bissen] who is listed on
the ship manifest actually made it to Kauai to enter his indentured
service.
Family lore says he jumped
ship in Hana - and sometime before 1889, he married there had a family and
and later remarried with a 2nd family on Maui and died in Honolulu after a
fall at a construction site.
Are records available as to
employee records for these plantations and are they
searchable?
Your help and advice will
be very much appreciated.
