I am seeking information on the Kennedy "Canida" Bagwell Family.
The family appears on the 1870 Murray County Census. His wife doesn't
appear

died 1866 at the birth of their last child.> The entire family
appears
on the 1860 Floyd County Census. Any help you can give me would be
greatly
appreciated, birth or death records or burial locations. Thank you so
much.
Jim Peck My
great-great
grandfather was Washington Weems (sp?) PECK. He was the son of Elliott
Peck of McMinn County, TN, and grandson of Adam Peck of Mossy Creek,
Tennessee,
(now known as Jefferson City, Tennessee). W.W. was married to Dialthea
Rodgers WILSON on February 22, 1854 in McMinn County, TN. Apparently,
sometime
shortly after his marriage he moved to Murray County, Georgia. His
mother,
Nancy Campbell Peck moved there in December, 1854. My
great-grandfather,
James E. Peck, was born in Murray County, near Springplace, on
September
8, 1855. His twin brothers, Albert and Elbert were born on August 30,
1860
here also. It is said that W.W. moved his family, including his mother,
to Morgan County, Alabama in the fall of 1860. Our family has lived
here
ever since. We know nothing about the family's time in Georgia. We
don't
know why they moved there or why they left. Please contact me with any
further information. Thank you.

I am researching my husband, Norman's family in Oregon County,
Missouri.
His mother was Orpha Leota LEWIS, supposedly part Cherokee. His
grandfather
was Hayden Lewis, his greatgrandmother was Eliza Huddleston Lewis.
Hayden
Lewis married Katherine Gertrude DANIELS or McDANIELS. Her mother was
Jenny
or Virginia SHERRILL maried to a Ruben Daniels. They were from
Tennessee
and Kentucky. (When I give you a choice of names it is because the name
occurs one way on a death certificate and one way on a marriage license
or because the given name changes from one census to the other, but all
the rest of the data remains the same.) I think it was possible that
some
or many of these families were originally from Murray County, Georgia.

I'm looking for information on a George Baird and Bessie Lee McCollum
Baird.
George Baird was born in Tennessee, and Bessie was born in Kentucky.
They
came to Crandall, Murray county around 1913. Bessie gave birth to my
grandfather,
Cleon Kemp Baird, 19 July 1913.
As far as we can tell, they all lived in or around Crandall until
1916
when George Baird disappeared. We don't know if he just deserted the
family
or if he met with foul play. I have been unable to find any sign of him
after 1916. Bessie then supposedly got an annullment and remarried a
man
named Charles William Kiker, Sr., in 1917. I'd like to find any birth,
death, marriage, annullment, property, etc. records on any of these
people
George Baird, Bessie Lee McCollum Baird Kiker, Cleon Kemp Baird, or

William Kiker, Sr.
Bessie's brother James Luther McCollum lived in Dalton GA and is

there. Thanks so much for any help.

for Asberry E EDWARDS b SC 1822 who lived in Murray Co., GA before 1850
to about 1860. His wife was Sarah. He has Easley or Eadey
living with him who was b.SC 1781, possibly mother in law. Also
brother Edward H EDWARDS was listed b SC 1818 who owned a tavern.
Elizabeth Edwards listed B SC 1796 who may be their mother??
Asberry and Fam. moved to Jackson Co., AL in early 1853 and he died in
Civil War I think. Possibly
their dad was Abel and granddad was Henry who Md Ann Easley. Just a
guess cause there was an Easley or Eadey living with them in
1850. Any info.

Mary
Davis. I'm researching the DAVIS Family in Murray County.
This is an African American family that moved from Gordon County GA to
your county. My Great, great, great grandparents were Gilbert and
Sarah Davis. Their grandson was Will Davis. He later
married a woman named Caroline and they also lived in Murray
County. The oldest son moved to Arkansas and started a family
thus the Arkansas Davis Family. We have lost contact with anyone
from Georgia since all of our elders have passed away. We are
planning a reunion and would like to contact our cousins in GA.
The only information we have is what on the census and some verbal
history. I have written a narrative and will email it if
requested. I'm looking for any African American families with the
last name Davis in your town, the name of your local African American
funeral homes, cemeteries, churches, etc. Also any other
information you think might aid me in my search. Thanking you in
advance for your assistance.
DIANE GARONZIK: I am the
gggrandaugter of Edward WILSON born July 20, 1827 in North Carolina,
died, July 1923, m Elizabeth BURLINSON about 1853.
Elizabeth was born in Feb 1828 in North Carolina and died 1913.
It is believed he lived in Murray County Georgia before and perhaps
during the Civil War. One of their children was my g
grandmother Susan Elmyra , b Feb 24, 1952, in Whitfield or Murray
County, Georgia. I am looking for information on ancestors of this
family. Mike WILSON said he had information about Edward's
decendants. Would like to communicate with him.
Carol.

I have had a merry adventure with the Wade Hampton Turners in my line
and now, here is another. I would like to know more about him if
any of you are familiar with him. Thanks so much.
Jewel Kiser: I would like
information on Elizabeth Couch m. Thomas Elrod July 8 1847 Murray
County--they had 13 children and lived in the Ballground District of
Murray County. The information I have found says she was born in
Murray County 1828. I need to know who her parents are. I found where
it said her parents
might have been William and Catherine Couch, But Catherine would be
wrong for her mother, for he married Catherine much later. She is
buried at the Ballground Cemetary now know as Mt Herman. I found Thomas
Elrod buried there and there are 4 unmarked graves under his name so I
beleive one of them is her and
another one of them is their daughter Mary that was born 1850 and died
as a young child in the 1860's. Any information will be greatly
appreciated. I am a
Couch descendent of James and Martha (Osborne) Couch who also lived in
Murray County. I have their childrens names. He supposedly died there
between the 1850 Census and the 1860 Census. He was in the 1850 Census
but not the 1860 census only her and children. He was a Blacksmith.
Nancy Hopkins. Looking
for info on Ralph JACKSON (b-1839) and Martha ROLLINS (b-1843) married

Jackson and Rollins are in the Fed 1850 Census out of Dist 824, Murray
Co., out of households of LB Jackson and Calvin Rollins.

Looking for info regarding my 3rd G Grandfather and Grandmother's
parents, Abram or Abraham M. HEAD, b. abt. 1810, Whitfield, Troup,
GA and his wife Susannah b. abt. 1815 in Whitfield, Troup,
GA. My 2nd G Grandfather was their son Jeremiah Head who married
Susan Elizabeth (GREEN) 11/29/1855 in Murray Co., GA. I would
greatly appreciate any info regarding them.
Patricia Sakellaridis.
I am still trying to find Roda Adeline RAMEY and James William
KING's parents. Roda married James William King, they are
listed in the 1860 census in Gilmer County, Georgia. In the 1850 census
there is a Roda Ramey with Isaac Ramey and Elizabeth, and James W. King
is listed with Isaac King and Catherine, I am hoping that these people
are Roda's parents and James's parents. Roda and James were my
greatgreatgrandparents. In the 1880 census they are listed in Polk
County, Tennessee. I found a Roda King who is buried in Cools Springs
Cemetery, Murray County, Georgia.
George Proctor. I'm
looking for information on my grandfather, Ansel RICE. He was
married to Nancy or Mary Melviney SHIELDS and lived in Murray County
until after the war when he went west, to Kansas. I'm also
looking for my great-great grandfather. His name was BRIDGEMAN,
and his first name may have been Frederick. He married one of
Grandpa Rice's daughters after the war. Any information you can
give me will help.
Carolyn Cox. Does
anyone have info on the Jacob & Adaline COX family I found on the
1850 Murray Co census? They have a son John 4/12 who I think
might be an ancestor of my husband. I think the widow Sarah COX,
50, on the same census page might be Jacob's mother. I cannot
find these folks in 1860.

for the names, birthplaces of my great grandfather's parents. My great
grandfather's name was Robert Colial GRIFFEE. He was born on 13 Sept.
1887 in Spring Place GA. He, at some point, moved to Security TX. He
was living in Milam TX in 1920 and Polk TX in 1930. He was living
in Medford OR when he died in 1957. Unfortunately, that is all I know
about him. Thank you for any help you can give.
[email protected] I am
searching for Elizabeth CARTER b.1850. She lived with her father
and ran away in 1863 to marry a Union Soldier. I have not been
able to find any information about her parents. An Aunt thought
she was part of Farish Carter's family and I found his son James
Farish Carter and wife Mary had a baby in 1850 by the name of
Mary....we are wondering if this could be Mary Elizabeth. She
went to live with her mothers parents in Tn. Any info would be
appreciated.
Angie
Begley. I'm searching for any information on a (gggranfather) James Carnes,
who married Sarah Rice sometime during or right after the Civil War. I
know they had 4 boys Shem Missouri
Carnes, Simon Peter Carnes, Joseph, and John. I also know that we found
Sarah Rice in a boarding house in Murray County Georgia, during the
Civil War at age 17. I believe they were from Murray County Georgia and
moved to Chatooga and Walker counties later on as they raised their
family. Any information I'd be grateful. Thank you.

My great grandfather, Jesse Greenberry VANN was born in Georgia, most
likely in Murray county. He lived out his life in Apison,
Tennessee and lies buried in Antioch Baptist Cemetery, 2-3 miles South
of Apison, and therefore, I think, in Georgia. Do you know who
his parents were?
