references states that a brother of one of my ancestors operated
a wholesale grocery store in Cape Girardeau, MO during the years
1874 to 1877, perhaps longer. I don't know which side of the
family it is. Possible names are Heinrich STRATMANN, b. 10 Jul
1824, Oedingen, Westphalia; Franz Adam STRATMANN, b. 17 Oct
1826, Oedingen, Westphalia; or it could be from the other side
of the family, SPEKERMANN. Sometimes the STRATMANN family took

William was an orphan and is believed to have been born in

My great grandfather Charles Wilson
SMITH was born in Cape Girardeau County 11 Mar 1848, son of
Elizabeth Clark(e) and Charles David Smith. The parents are
buried in the Thompson Family Cemetery on the farm of Capt John
Thompson (1752- 1818) near Egypt Mills. Charles Wilson Smith
married sometime between 1866 and 1869. Family lore says she was
Indian, she died and he migrated to Mississippi in 1869. Need to
know first wife's vitals and where she is buried. Would like to
know the location of the Thompson Cemetery.

Germany. My gggrandfather, Henry C. DRALLE, came to the U.S. in

John LINK who was born in 1765 and married Mary VOLLBRECHT in

Frederick Oberbeck, came to Cape Girardeau
county in 1846 can fiind no record of him after his wife died in
1850.,only have record of two lof his children.
Is this the county that would have records for
landowners, etc. for 1821 when Becknell formed the Trading Co.
for Santa Fe. All signers for this Company were to meet at
EZEKIAL WILLIAM's farm on the Missouri, about five miles above
Franklin. Need info. on this WILLIAM family and any GHOLSONS
(GOLSONS) who may have been in this area at the same time.

Townsend, Cape Girardeau, Mo. She is listed in my great- uncle's
obituary as his half sister. Which means she should have been a
half sister to my grandmother, Inez Willie Schlaeger. I would
like to know more about her and her parentage as I am having
trouble finding info on my great-grandparents. There is also a
John Willie (brother to my grandmother) who lived in Fisk
Missouri.

I am looking for the Jess Smith and
Allie JOHN SMITH BRICKEY JOHN SMITH BRICKEY children and
grandchildren. Jess and Allie married in Cape Girardeau March
17th, 1912. They had 2 boys Willis and Glennard. Glen had 2
children, a son Douglas and a daughter Norma Lee. Jess died at a
young age and Allie left Glen and Willis to be raised by her
sister Daisie Hamilton. Glennard's daughter Norma married James
F Miget, son of Harry Miget.

John & Gertrude (OHLEY) SCHAEFER came to
this country around 1854. There is also a Phillip SCHAEFER that
settled in and around Applecreek MO. Is this his brother? Is
there any research on the Zion Methodist Church and the Cemetery
that is in Applecreek? I am interested in the Church records,
have they been microfilmed does any one know?
Seeking info on Eliza Jane RUNNELLS who was born
about 1832 in Missouri. She married Elza Bailey in April 1847 in
Pike County MO, but it is thought that her family came from Cape
Girardeau MO. She and Elza resided in Calhoun Co IL, except for
about five years in the 1850's when they lived near Marion Iowa.
She died in December 1860 in Calhoun Co. IL.

BOGGESS who moved to Cape Girardeau County Missouri sometime
around 1821 from Union County Illinois. They had a son Richard
and a daughter Nancy that I know of. Nancy married Johnson
Summers and lived in Tazewell County Illinois. Did Joel & Fanny
stay in Cape Girardeau County until their death or did they go
