Queries

McIntire / Fogg

Seeking any info on Dorathy / Dorothy (McIntire) Fogg's ancestry.  She m. Walter Fogg abt. March 1803.  I believe Dorothy was a sister to my ggg grandfather Benjamin McIntire of New Gloucester (who was m. to Maria Prince).  Dorothy b. 30 Jun 1783 poss. in No. Yarmouth, Falmouth (Portland), or New Gloucester.  She d. 20 Mar 1868 and is buried in Old Valley Cemetery of Greene with Walter and their 3 unmarried daughters.  They moved to Greene from New Gloucester after 1st son Edmond b. 24 Feb 1804 and before next child, Sally b. 23 Jun 1805.  Dorathy and Walter raised at least 5 other children in Greene:  Mary, Benjamin, Samuel L., George and Joan.  Dorothy was in 1860 census living w/son George Fogg and family.

Nathaniel (or Nathan) Kimball

Abia(h) Kimball (of Greene), b. 14 Apr 1802, m. Alpheus Steward (of Wells) in Mar 1824.  Their children were: Nathan b. 16 Nov 1825; Hiram b. 14 Jan 1827; Benjamin b. 23 Mar 1829; Lydia Olive b. 26 Feb 1833; Elisha b. 1835; and Alpheus Jr. b. 11 Apr 1844.  Lydia m. Isaiah Wakefield, my great-great-grandfather.

The 1850 census of Greene has Nathl Kimball, age 82, living in the household of Alpheus and Abiah Stewart.  This would suggest a birth year of 1768.

I believe that Abia(h) had a brother, Jacob, b. 5 Jan 1800, d. 5 Jul 1862.  He is buried in Old Valley Cemetery near Alpheus and Abia(h).  There are other Kimballs buried there that I could not connect to this family.

If anyone has info to share on Nathaniel Kimball or this family, I would be very happy to hear from them.

Elizabeth (Edwards) Mower

Seeking info to help identify the parents of Elizabeth Edwards, wife of John Mower (and my 4th-great-grandmother).  She died 2 Mar 1836 in Greene, Maine, and is buried in Old Valley Cemetery.  They were married 29 May 1782 in Charlton, Worcester Co., Massachusetts; in that town's vital records she is listed as "of Charlton".  According to the Mower Genealogy she is purported to be a relative of the Rev. Jonathan Edwards.
