The Southampton Agriculture and Forestry Museum has an extensive collection of items relating to farm life and the lumber industry. There are a number of buildings to include an old farm house, a country store, and a sawmill, just to mention a few. Well worth a stop .
Rochelle-Prince House
Located across from courthouse in Courtland, Va.

The Rochelle-Prince House, also owned by the Southampton County Historical Society, merits a visit while in Courtland. Located on Main Street, the house was built around 1814 by Dr. Henry Gray and served as the home of James Rochelle, clerk of court for 20 years. The house has been completely restored and is open 1st and 3rd Sundays from 2-4 pm and by appointment March through November.
Admission is free.
