Sarah Catharina Kiess was born on 24 January 1861. She was the daughter of George W. Kiess and Barbara A. Mutschler. Sarah Catharina Kiess married Charles Frederick Ulmer, son of David L. Ulmer and Christina Shafer, in 1896. Sarah Catharina Kiess died in 1913 at age 51 years.1 She was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
