All though no record has been found that JERMIAH SERAT, ever servered in the Civil War. A record shows that on 04 Jul. 1878, (age 34yrs) living at P.O. Summit Home, Marion Co. AR. 72677 made application for "Bounty and Back Pay" of his dec'd brother CALVEN SERAT; Claim was disallowed, because was paid to his father JOHN SERAT on 13 Apr. 1864.
